Since its founding in 1986 Three Five has become a major pioneer, developer and manufacturer of advanced visual and human interface technologies.
The company being born out of National Semiconductor as “Three Five Semi Conductor”, first produced materials and products for light emitting diodes. The name Three Five comes from the period table of III/V material class for GaAs. Many of the original portable Cellular phones and products of the time were with Three Five LED modules.
Recognizing the industry’s demand for higher information content in displays that was required for new products entering the marketplace, Three Five shifted its focus in the late 80’s developing and manufacturing LCD’s.
Three Five’s technical competence in being able to produce unique and application specific display and systems accounted for its rapid growth in the 1990’s. With the increased demand Three Five developed plants in the Philippines, China and in the US. As well as the manufacturing locations, Three Five developed a significant eco system of engineering , channels, supply chain, partnerships, joint ventures and a host of matrix engagements to best suite the market place.
Today Three Five continues on bringing its vast experience in display technology, engineering, manufacturing and value to the customer base worldwide. Value is derived from innovative designs, modular engineering, speed, material cost control, and low cost manufacturing for any volume. We continued to innovate with new human interface solutions in the touch and assembly solutions for an expanding roster of devices, including medical, commercial, auto, industrial, PC peripherals, digital music players, white goods, GPS devices, remote controls and others on the Horizon.
Three Five Corp is headquartered in San Ramon, California with a worldwide team with design centers in California , Arizona, UK and China coupled with low cost manufacturing in China and Taiwan.
